Renaissance 60×50 cm oil/canvas

To me, the two arched windows evoke Renaissance windows; the painting is built upon this motif. The Renaissance was a response to the social and demographic traumas of the late Middle Ages. How does rebirth emerge from ruins? How does a contemporary altar arise from a fragmented space? The new is born from the ruins of the old. Graffiti is a modern trace within a decaying space—but when does it become an imprint of the past? Layers of time accumulate much like layers of oil paint; sometimes they vanish, sometimes they emerge.
